Call J.U.L.I.E. Before You Dig

You may be surprised by what's buried in your yard. That's because today, more power, gas, water and telecommunications companies are delivering utility services underground. To avoid damaging those lines, state law requires you to call JULIE (811 or 800-892-0123) before any digging project, regardless of the project size or depth.

J.U.L.I.E. (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides contractors, excavators, homeowners, and others who may be disturbing the earth, with a free service phone number to call for the locating and marking of underground utility facilities. In 1992, the village was required to become a member of the J.U.L.I.E. System. As a member we are required to locate our underground utilities within 48 hours of initial notification. We process approximately 3,600 locate requests per year.
