  • You may obtain a bicycle tag by visiting the Bloomingdale Police Department Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. or on Saturdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    A short application (PDF) needs to be filled out and then a bicycle tag in the form a sticker will be given to you that same day. A serial number is required with each bicycle tag application. There is no fee for a bicycle tag. For further information, please contact the Records Division at 630-529-9868.

  • Lightning sirens are located in all parks throughout the village and are maintained by the Bloomingdale Park District. The sirens will activate when lightening is detected within 10 miles of the detector.

    If you hear the siren, please leave the park immediately and take shelter. For more information, please contact the Bloomingdale Park District at 630-529-3650.

  • Any business or residence with an alarm system is allowed 1 free alarm per billing quarter. Any additional alarms are billed at $25 per alarm activation. These alarms are any alarm that is called into the police dispatch center requiring police response. The only alarm that is not billed is a "weather" related activation.

  • The severe weather / tornado siren is activated when severe weather or a tornado is in the area. We suggest you monitor local radio or TV for weather updates during severe weather or if you hear the siren activated. Please do not call 911 when you hear these sirens.

    If severe weather is in the area and the sirens are activated, please take shelter immediately in the lowest floor of your home. If you do not have a basement, take shelter in the room that has the most protection and is away from windows.

    The siren is tested the 1st Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m.

    The system also allows an "attack" mode. This is a wavering sound and is only used for Homeland Security warnings. For more information, go to the DuPage County Homeland Security website.

  • Per ordinance 2002-24 motorized scooters, motorized go-peds and other similar devices are not allowed upon any public or private street, highway, parking lot, sidewalk, school ground, bike path or on any other public property in the Village of Bloomingdale.

    Towing fees will be paid by the owner of the vehicle. Call Bloomingdale Rescue and Recovery at 630-893-0393 for their hours and fees.

    If a hold was placed on your vehicle for insurance, you must first come into the police station and show valid proof of insurance in order to have the hold released.

  • The Bloomingdale Police Department is committed to excellence in police services to the community. We appreciate when a citizen takes the time to recognize the efforts of one of our staff members.

    We also understand that there may be times when we did not live up to those expectations. We make every effort to investigate all complaints made about any member of the Bloomingdale Police Department. Concerned citizens are encouraged to come into the Police Department and ask to speak with the shift supervisor.

  • The State of Illinois allows for disability license plates and placards to be issued to a qualifying applicant for any vehicle titled and registered in his or her name. For qualification information and license and placard applications, please visit the Illinois Secretary of State website.

  • For a copy of a Police Report, please complete the online Request For Public Records (FOIA) form, located under “How Do I” on the home page. The request will be responded to in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. Copies of Accident Reports are not subject to FOIA, and are available for purchase online at www.ecrash.lexisnexis.com or in person at the Police Department.

  • Fingerprinting is provided to Bloomingdale residents free of charge and is available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. No appointment is necessary.
