Memorial Day Remembrance

Memorial Day Marching In Observance 2017

 Memorial Day Remembrance

The Annual Memorial Day Remembrance will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29 at the St. Paul/Evergreen Cemetery, 219 Lake Street, Bloomingdale, just east of Circle Avenue. The 45-minute program will be followed by placing flowers on the gravesites of Veterans and light refreshments. There will be no vehicle access to the cemetery, but parking is available in the shopping center lot at Circle and Lake Streets. Handicapped parking will be available in the business lots immediately west of the cemetery. A shuttle bus to the cemetery will be available from the Cornerstone Faith Community Church parking lot on Bloomingdale Road from 8:45-9:15am and return service until 11:15am. Open seating is available and lawn chairs are welcome. Please bring umbrellas in the event of inclement weather.

Following the Remembrance at the cemetery, all are welcome to join the Bloomingdale VFW Post 7539 at 11 a.m. as it holds a brief ceremony at the gazebo on the corner of Bloomingdale Road and Fairfield Way. Here they will lay a wreath at the base of the flag and perform a ten-gun salute in honor of those who served in the name of our country.
