Registration
The person conducting the garage sale must register their sale with the Police Department prior to the start of the sale. An actual paper permit is not issued. A garage sale may be registered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by calling 630-529-9868. There is no fee for registering a garage sale.
You are allowed to have 3 garage sales at the same address in 1 calendar year. A garage sale may not run for period of more than 3 consecutive days and shall be conducted only between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Signage
No garage sale signs shall be posted or displayed on public property, street light poles, utility poles, street sign or traffic sign poles, on or within vehicles, or be placed in such a location to cause an obstruction to the clear view of traffic.
