Delivery of New Refuse & Recycling Carts is Underway

SBC Cans

S.B.C. Waste Solutions has started to deliver the new Refuse & Recycling carts to curbside residential customer this week, with delivery continuing through February 28th

Unfortunately, most customers will have duplicate carts on hand for a week or so, since Republic Services will not be collecting their carts until the last collection of the month.  SBC apologies for the inconvenience; however, it is necessary in order for all customers to have their carts on hand when the new service starts on March 1st.  Bloomingdale has approximately 6400 curbside residential units, requiring the delivery of roughly 13,000 carts, and the delivery is further complicated by extreme weather conditions.

The Village understands that most residents do not have space in their garage to accommodate the storage of 4 carts.  As such, during this transition period, residents may store the additional carts in their front or side yard.  The Village will not issue any property maintenance citations during this cart transition period for carts stored in a manner that makes them visible from the street.

Current Carts:  Please LEAVE YOUR CURRENT REFUSE & RECYCLING CARTS OUT at the curb on the last collection day in February (Wednesday, February 24, Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26).  After the waste is collected, another truck will come to pick up the carts. Please DO NOT place carts out on the street.  If your carts are not picked up by Monday, March 8th, please call Republic Services at (847) 981-0091.

New Carts: By no later than, Monday, March 1st, S.B.C. will deliver (1) 95-gallon refuse and (1) 65-gallon recycling carts to all detached residential customers, and (1) 65-gallon refuse and (1) 65-gallon recycling carts to all attached (townhome) residential customers.  Customers may request to switch refuse and/or recycling cart sizes at no cost with a 35-gallon, 65-gallon, or 95-gallon cart  by notifying the Contractor by telephone or email, starting 2-weeks after delivery for up to 90 days (June 14, 2021).  Any questions regarding the new cart delivery and or size delivered should be directed to S.B.C. Waste Solutions at 312-522-1115, or through their online customer service form https://www.sbcwastesolutions.com/contact/.

The Village has been notified that the welcome packets from S.B.C. Waste Solutions are being placed under the lid of the new container. Specifically it is located at the rear-end of the opening right by the handle.

If you open the lid and do not see it please check the bottom of the can since a few may have fallen to the inside. If you do not find your packet inside the container, please contact S.B.C. directly at 312-522-1115 or residential@sbcwastesolutions.com.

Thank you for your patience during this time of transition.
