When we think of our stormwater as a precious fresh water resource, it doesn’t make sense to manage it like a waste product. There is a finite amount of fresh water on earth and we can all take steps to protect it, starting with collecting it where it falls! One simple, efficient, low-cost method to reduce the amount of stormwater runoff from your property is to use rain barrels.
To learn more about simple things each and every person can do to impact both their community and our environment in a positive way, please plan on attending a presentation by DuPage Conservation Foundation Conservation Program Manager Jim Kleinwachter at Village Hall on Wednesday, June 12 at 6 PM. The Village of Bloomingdale has partnered with The DuPage Conservation Foundation to offer rain barrels to Village of Bloomingdale residents through a partnership with Upcycle Products, Inc. The 55-gallon rain barrels being offered for sale are made of recycled food-grade plastic, come in a variety of colors and can be purchased online for $60 (plus tax). Mail in orders must be received by July 5, 2019 and online orders must be placed by July 9, 2019
