Building & Zoning Department
The Building and Zoning Department provides for the health, safety and welfare of the residents and future residents of the Village of Bloomingdale by assuring compliance with the Zoning Ordinance, the Building, Plumbing and Electrical Codes, Construction and Accessibility Standards and all other Building and Zoning related ordinances. Compliance is effected through a fair and impartial enforcement of all Village Codes, Standards and Ordinances.
Engineering Department
The Engineering Department manages Village infrastructure projects, inspection of private development, engineering studies, budget planning, coordination of work with the public, other regulatory agencies and other Village Departments.
Private Developments include both residential subdivision and commercial site plan reviews.

OLD TOWN PARKING LOT PROJECT
Village begins work on the Old Town Parking Lot As part of the Old Town Revitalization Project and a $500k grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity the Village has initiated improvements to the Village parking lot located at Third Street and Schick Road. The planned enhancements include reconfiguration of the parking lot to correct drainage issues reducing the impervious surface area creating larger parking islands and landscaping beds along the perimeter of the lot; widening of the entrance and exit drive; replacement of existing parking lot light standards with new LED standards to improve safety; and the addition of entry features at the corner of Third Street and Schick Road (parking lot entry) to tie into the entry feature located at the north end of Third Street.
